MEET THE TRAINERS
An expert, senior trainer from the list below, will deliver your class. Our trainers are committed to your learning and success. They bring high energy, decades of experience, warmth and humor.
Christine K. Black, MLS, Senior Trainer, has won grants in major federal and foundation competitions, served as proposal reviewer for the U.S. Dept. of Ed., and taught grant proposal writing classes across the U.S. and internationally. As Assistant Director for Research Development at the University of Michigan Medical School, Chris supported faculty proposal development, including training, writing, editing, and reviewing. She developed the nationally recognized, often emulated R01 Boot Camp, a mentoring academy for young faculty.
Linda J. Boedeker, Senior Trainer, has worked with nonprofit organizations as executive director, trainer, development professional, and foundation officer. Linda managed the provision of services to persons affected by HIV and AIDS in 26 counties and has assisted nonprofits with fundraising, strategic planning, board development, and volunteer development. As an independent consultant, Linda has filled the role of chief executive officer during organization transitions for nonprofits in the arts, social service, and health.
Angela Richardson, Senior Trainer, brings expertise in program development, fund development, strategic planning, and organizational coaching. She has trained other trainers and trained staff for nonprofit organizations, school districts, governments, faith-based organizations, and colleges and universities. Angela has also reviewed proposals for the U.S. Department of Education and local arts commissions in Los Angeles and Rhode Island.
AJ King, Senior Trainer, brings decades of experience in public health plus 16 years of grant experience. AJ’s work includes proposal writing for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of State, California Department of Public Health, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and numerous foundations; facilitating grant development processes; grant oversight; grant reviews; and program management. AJ also has facilitated processes for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
